The Chamber of Commerce for Fuerteventura has opened a new business support office in Morro Jable, located in the Cosmo Shopping Centre. This initiative aims to provide better access to services for companies, freelancers, and entrepreneurs in the southern part of the island.
The new office was established through a partnership between the Chamber and the Pájara Town Hall, enhancing collaboration to boost economic development and support local businesses.
The inauguration saw key figures in attendance, including Chamber President Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal, Pájara Mayor Alejandro Jorge Moreno, and David Mille Pomposo, the Government of the Canary Islands’ Director General for Trade and Consumption. They emphasised the importance of this facility as a vital tool for enhancing economic activity and fostering competitiveness.
Additional guests included local councillors and business representatives from the region. The new office reflects the Chamber’s commitment to making its services more accessible and eliminating the need for businesses to travel to other areas for assistance.
Support offered at the new location will include personalised advisory services, help with business creation and stability, information on grants, training programmes, digital transformation, and job creation.
During the opening, President Rodríguez Marichal stated, “This office represents a step forward in our commitment to being more accessible and present in businesses’ daily operations. With this office, we eliminate distances and reinforce our commitment to the south of the island.”
Vice President Blas Acosta highlighted the importance of decentralising services to support balanced development across the island, while Mille Pomposo noted that this new office would ease daily interactions for local businesses, which are the backbone of the economy.
Mayor Moreno underscored the effort to bring services closer to the municipality, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Puerto del Rosario for administrative tasks.
The establishment of this office, as part of the agreement with Pájara Town Hall, solidifies the shared commitment of both institutions to decentralise services and stimulate economic growth throughout Fuerteventura.
