The Canarian Institute of Housing (ICAVI) has begun contracting energy renovation works for 50 public homes in Fuerteventura. This includes 10 homes in the Valle de Santa Inés, Betancuria, and another 40 in the La Oliva II group in the northern municipality.
The overall budget for the project is set at €1,095,792.43 and aims to enhance the energy efficiency of the buildings, reduce the consumption of non-renewable primary energy, and improve the living conditions for residents.
In Betancuria, the plans for the 10 homes come with a budget of €252,141.20, while the works for the 40 homes in La Oliva have a budget of €843,651.23.
Both projects are part of a larger plan estimated to be worth €2,378,453.67, excluding IGIC tax. The contract is divided into three lots and also includes the renovation of 50 homes in the Fabelo group, located in Puerto del Rosario.
According to the Canarian government, this initiative falls under the first programme of neighbourhood renovation aid, funded by the EU’s Next Generation EU fund. The contracting process is managed by ICAVI, which operates under the Canarian government’s Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility.
