Five Minors Identified in Public Assault Case
Police in Puerto del Rosario have identified five minors as suspects in an assault on another young person, with evidence of the attack spread via social media and messaging apps.
The investigation began after the victim’s family reported the incident, which occurred in public. According to the police, the victim sustained minor injuries requiring medical attention. It was determined that some suspects travelled from a different area to the vicinity of the victim’s home.
Following the assault, the victim was confronted by a group of youths. Evidence suggests that while one of the group physically attacked the victim, others contributed to the intimidation.
One of the individuals recorded the attack on a mobile phone, sharing the footage in various messaging groups. This not only amplified the incident’s impact but also increased the distress experienced by the victim. Alongside physical injuries, the investigation highlighted significant emotional trauma, leading to fear and anxiety affecting the victim’s daily life and social interactions.
The police report has been forwarded to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office in Las Palmas, as potential charges related to injuries, invasion of privacy, and moral integrity have been noted.
