Fuerteventura is experiencing a scorching heatwave, with temperatures soaring above 34 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The hottest areas are the interior and the central and eastern parts of the island, particularly in Tuineje, Betancuria, and Antigua, where readings have reached 35 degrees.
The lack of wind intensifies the heat, making conditions feel even warmer for residents.
Forecasts suggest that Wednesday may be equally hot, with temperatures remaining above 30 degrees. A potential return of even more extreme heat is predicted for next Wednesday, although long-range forecasts should be taken with caution.
