The meetings were held at La Aurora, where the council announced a halt to the urban improvement project’s tender process. This pause aims to explore alternatives that will foster greater agreement among all parties involved. Mayor Noda also confirmed that a Local Safety Board meeting will be held next week, including participation from community and business representatives.

At the meetings, Noda, accompanied by councilors Beatriz Vázquez and Ángel Lago, emphasised the need for dialogue to address the town’s challenges effectively. “We listened to the concerns of residents and businesses, which are also ours, and we are committed to working together to enhance security and modernise Playa Blanca, meeting the needs of those who live and work here,” he stated.

During the first meeting, focused on public safety, participants included Pedro Viera Espinosa, the State Administration director in Lanzarote, Captain Armando Fernández Martínez of the Civil Guard, Sergeant José Manuel González Fragueiro from the Yaiza Civil Guard post, and Vladimir Guadalupe, head of the Yaiza Local Police. Moisés Cordero represented the merchants, voicing key concerns from the business sector.
