Cabildo de Tenerife Partners with ULL to Enhance Youth Sports Professionalism
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through its Sports Department, is launching a new Specialised Support project in collaboration with the University of La Laguna’s Social Innovation Lab as part of the Educar Entrenando programme.
This initiative aims to promote healthy, secure, and high-quality grassroots sports in Tenerife. It will provide participating sports clubs with professional, multidisciplinary support to strengthen their daily operations. This response aligns with demands identified during participatory diagnostics conducted for the Insular Pact for Grassroots Sport in Tenerife.
Currently, few clubs have the resources to implement multidisciplinary teams, despite recognising their value for the comprehensive development of athletes. As the new season approaches, the “Values that Mark” initiative will evolve into a more personalised model tailored to the specific needs of each club. The project will continue to enhance the educational and inclusive roles of clubs through the incorporation of lines focused on Physical Preparation and Sports Psychology managed by qualified professionals.
This Specialised Support project encompasses three key areas: “Values that Mark”, which aims to equip technical teams with knowledge and strategies to create more educational and inclusive environments; “Physical Preparation” focused on injury prevention and the proper development of athletes’ motor skills; and “Sports Psychology”, which fosters a well-being-oriented sporting climate through professional support that aids in resilience and emotional management.
Grassroots clubs wishing to apply for the Specialised Support for the upcoming campaign can submit their applications until 7 August and find further details regarding participation requirements on the Tenerife Sports website.
