Two Injured in Stabbing Incident in Morro Jable
Two men were injured, one seriously, during a stabbing incident in Morro Jable on Sunday, as reported by the Emergency Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The altercation occurred at around 5:38 am when the 1-1-2 call centre received reports of a knife fight at a shopping centre. Emergency services were dispatched immediately to the scene.
Both men suffered stab wounds and were treated at a local health centre. One man was stabilised and then transported by a medical ambulance to the helipad in Morro Jable, from where he was airlifted to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria in serious condition. The other was taken to Fuerteventura General Hospital.
The Guardia Civil is investigating the reasons behind the brawl, noting that three men were involved. Authorities have arrested one suspect who had an outstanding warrant.
