Tenerife Bus Service to Increase Routes for Fiestas del Carmen
From Tuesday, 14 July, Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa) will enhance services on 11 bus routes to accommodate an expected rise in passengers during the Fiestas del Carmen in Puerto de la Cruz.
This initiative includes additional departures from the Puerto de la Cruz station and revised schedules for urban routes, impacting both connections to the metropolitan area and services linking the town with the surrounding northern region.
Operational changes will focus on the key days of the festival, leading to temporary road diversions that will close multiple bus stops in the town centre.
Altered Urban Bus Timings
Local routes 381 (Plaza Reyes Católicos-Punta Brava Loro Parque-La Longuera) and 382 (Plaza Reyes Católicos-Plaza del Charco-Mercado-La Vera) will operate on a holiday schedule on 14 and 15 July.
Due to street events, both routes will adjust their paths at various times between 10 and 15 July, using alternative streets including Valois, Punta de la Carretera, and Carretera de las Arenas.
Temporary Stop Closures and Route Changes
As a result of traffic alterations for the festival, three central bus stops will temporarily suspend service:
- Zamora (4904)
- Plaza del Charco (4905)
- San Felipe La Peñita (4906)
Additionally, from 08:00 on 14 July to 09:00 on 15 July, the starting point for routes 381 and 382 will move to Avenida Familia Betancourt y Molina, near Calle Enrique Talg. Consequently, the Plaza Reyes Católicos stop will be inactive during this period.
Increased Services in the North
Titsa will also provide special services with more frequent departures from Puerto de la Cruz for nine interurban lines, including routes directly connecting Santa Cruz and La Laguna to the town, as well as others serving Icod de los Vinos and La Orotava.
Passengers are advised to check specific schedules for these additional services through Titsa’s official communication channels or at the Puerto de la Cruz station before travelling.
