A duck caused disruption on the GC-1 motorway in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday morning as it was spotted wandering among oncoming traffic. The incident occurred near the Harimaguada as drivers navigated the busy Avenida Marítima heading north.

Local police shared the amusing detail on social media, noting that the “intrepid pedestrian” was rescued by the Traffic Unit, who temporarily halted traffic to prevent any potential accidents involving the bird.
The Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) took charge of the duck and ensured it was placed in a safe location, according to municipal authorities.
