A house fire in Volcán Nevado del Ruiz, Tenerife, disrupted the afternoon on Wednesday. The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES 112) received an alert at approximately 6:54 PM, prompting the immediate deployment of rescue services.
When firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium arrived, they found a fire concentrated in the kitchen. To tackle the blaze, they deployed a Heavy Urban Pump, a ladder truck, and a Water Tender. Thanks to their swift action, the flames were extinguished, and the building was fully ventilated.
During the incident, a man suffered injuries and required urgent medical attention. The Canary Emergency Service (SUC), arriving with a basic life support ambulance, treated him on-site. Initial assessments indicated he was suffering from smoke inhalation and moderate burns. After stabilisation, he was transferred directly to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
The operation also involved Local and National Police, who secured the area and coordinated with emergency teams to ensure a safe response.
