The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a generally stable day across the Canary Islands on Wednesday, 26 August, with some regions experiencing increased cloud cover and temperatures potentially reaching 30°C.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the northern part of the island will see persistent cloudiness during the morning and late afternoon. The rest of Tenerife is expected to be mostly lightly cloudy, although there may be cloudier spells in the south and west early in the day.
Temperatures are likely to remain similar to previous days, although minimum values could dip slightly. Maximum temperatures may reach 30°C along the southern coast and in the south-east of the metropolitan area.
On Tenerife’s peaks, Aemet forecasts moderate to strong westerly winds during the early hours, which could produce very strong gusts on the higher slopes of Mount Teide. Winds will ease later in the day, becoming light to moderate from the west, with breezes expected along the south-western coast.
In Gran Canaria, skies will be mostly clear or partly cloudy, with clouds more likely in the north during the first half of the day and again later. Temperatures are forecast to remain largely unchanged, with lows around 23°C and highs up to 27°C in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, while some low-lying areas may see temperatures near 30°C.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will also enjoy mostly clear skies, though expect cloudier periods in the early and late hours, particularly in the north. Temperatures will be similar to recent days.
The weather across the archipelago will be influenced by moderate north-easterly winds, with strong gusts possible along Gran Canaria’s southern and far-western coasts. Overall, Wednesday is set to bring a blend of clear skies, cloud cover, and warm temperatures, especially in the sunniest areas.
