Surge Demand for Health Courses at University of La Laguna
The application window for the ordinary pre-enrollment at the University of La Laguna closed on Thursday, with health-related degrees once again topping the list of choices for prospective students for the 2026-27 academic year.
Medicine led the way, receiving 1,491 applications for just 130 places. Nursing followed with 528 requests for 100 spots, while Psychology attracted 491 applications for 200 places. The Primary Education degree also recorded 491 applications, but for a larger pool of 260 slots.
Law and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences were next, with 356 and 331 applications, respectively. In total, there were 8,176 first-choice applications for 4,967 available spots across 57 courses, including both single and dual degrees, as well as courses at Adeje and La Palma.
Following this initial application phase, candidates can check their admission status starting Wednesday, with a period for appeals concluding the next day at 14:00. The first allocation list will be released on 13 July, allowing successful candidates to enrol from 10:00 on that day until 15 July at 23:59.
A second allocation list and a waiting list will be available on 17 July, with enrolment open for all preferences until 21 July. The waiting list will be processed on 23 and 24 July during set hours, with enrolment taking place on 27 and 28 July.
Any remaining unfilled places will be announced on 30 July and will be included in an extraordinary pre-enrollment period from 26 to 28 August.
