David Toledo criticises PSOE’s approach to corruption and renewable energy issues
David Toledo, Secretary of Organisation for the Canarian Coalition (CC), has strongly condemned the PSOE for neglecting corruption cases within its ranks. Speaking on Crónicas Radio’s programme “A Buena Hora”, he highlighted the ongoing scandal involving former PSOE Deputy Tito Berni, questioning why the party has not publicly addressed numerous allegations linked to prostitution and other misconduct.
Toledo accused the PSOE of deflecting criticism aimed at their members while attempting to frame opponents as misogynistic. He expressed disappointment at the lack of action from the Popular Party (PP) to propose a motion of no confidence against Pedro Sánchez’s government, calling it a “cowardly” approach.
He also took aim at Vox representative Nicasio Galván, labelling persistent racist initiatives as tiresome after three years of dealing with similar rhetoric.
In a separate discussion, Toledo praised Oswaldo Betancort, Lanzarote’s Cabildo President, for his effective handling of renewable energy discussions and slammed PSOE’s Marcos Bergaz for seeking media attention with misleading claims. He underscored that the government has shelved crucial projects, like improvements to the LZ 40 road, indicating a need for urgency in their execution.
Finally, Toledo remarked on the deplorable condition of the island’s airport facilities, expressing frustration over ongoing issues with access ramps and elevators, while advocating for Canarian control over airport management. He warned that unless significant changes are made, tourists will continue to be greeted with a poor representation of the region.
