A 55-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a house fire in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday, according to emergency services.

The incident occurred around 10:00 AM, when the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received multiple calls reporting the blaze on Pío XII street.
Two ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Services (SUC) provided initial treatment to the man, who had critical burns, before transporting him to Doctor Negrín University Hospital.
Firefighters from Las Palmas managed to extinguish the flames and ventilate the property.
Police are investigating the incident and are assisting with resource coordination at the scene.
