A magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands early this morning. The tremor occurred at 1:55 AM at a depth of 15 kilometres, with its epicentre located in the Atlantic Ocean.

The National Geographic Institute (IGN) reported that the quake was felt with intensities of II and III on the European macroseismic scale across various towns in Fuerteventura, including El Cotillo, Betancuria, Lajares, and Tindaya.
This follows another earthquake recorded by the IGN on June 30, which had a magnitude of 3.9 and occurred at a depth of 16 kilometres between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. That tremor was also widely felt across both islands.
