Weather in the Canary Islands this Tuesday will see cloud cover in the north, with temperatures remaining stable and moderate north-easterly winds, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Temperatures are forecast to exceed 30°C, reaching as high as 32°C in some parts of southern and eastern Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura’s south-east, and the southern slopes of Tenerife. There’s a chance of light drizzle in the north-east of the western islands during the early and late hours.
Moderate trade winds will sweep across the archipelago, with stronger gusts expected in the south-east and western highlands. The southern slopes of the Tenerife metropolitan area may experience very strong winds in exposed areas.
At sea, north-easterly winds of force 4 to 5 will create moderate to rough seas, with waves between one and two metres high.
Island-by-Island Forecast
Tenerife: The north will experience cloudy skies, although some breaks are expected in the afternoon. Light drizzle is possible in the north-east early and late in the day. The south will be mostly clear with temperatures reaching 30°C. Winds will be moderate from the north-east, with stronger gusts in south-east and western areas. Santa Cruz de Tenerife will see temperatures between 24°C and 29°C.
Gran Canaria: Heavy cloud is predicted in the north, clearing at times during the day. Temperatures in the south and east may reach 30 to 32°C. Strong north-easterly winds with possible very strong gusts will be felt in the extreme south-east and west. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will range from 23°C to 26°C.
Lanzarote: Cloudy skies in the north will turn partly cloudy by morning, while the rest of the island should remain stable. Temperatures in Arrecife will vary from 22°C to 30°C.
Fuerteventura: Cloud cover is expected along the eastern and western coasts early on, transitioning to clearer skies later. Maximum temperatures may hit 32°C in the south-east. Winds from the north-east may be strong in the south near Jandía, with temperatures in Puerto del Rosario ranging from 22°C to 27°C.
La Palma: Cloudy in the north and east, clearing later. Occasional drizzle is possible in the north-east. Temperatures will dip slightly, with moderate winds and strong gusts in the south-east and north-west. Santa Cruz de La Palma will see temperatures between 20°C and 26°C.
La Gomera: Expect cloud in the north, with sunny spells around midday and clear skies in other areas. Moderate north-easterly winds are anticipated. In San Sebastián de La Gomera, temperatures will range from 24°C to 29°C.
El Hierro: The northern slopes will be cloudy, while the south will be partly cloudy. Minimum temperatures will drop slightly, and winds may be strong in the eastern and western extremes. Valverde will experience temperatures between 18°C and 24°C.
