Celebrations in Femés as Major Festivities Conclude
On Tuesday, 7 July, the village of Femés will host a spectacular finale to its local celebrations, showcasing a strong Canary Islands identity. The main event will take place at San Marcial Square, featuring the musical performance “Herederos del Atlántico,” a journey through the islands’ rich musical roots. Renowned artists such as José Manuel Ramos, Almudena Hernández, Ciro Corujo, and Besay Pérez will share the stage.
Yaiza’s festivities councillor, Daniel Medina, announced that a solemn mass and procession in honour of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands’ patron saint will begin at 7:00 PM. This year’s procession will be accompanied by the 3rd War Band of the Canary Brigade 16 and the Soria Infantry Regiment No. 9, invited from neighbouring Fuerteventura. The Yaiza Parish also confirmed morning masses at 10:00 and 12:00 PM.
Throughout the patronal celebrations, Femés has embraced community spirit, enjoying activities filled with music, humour, and sports. The return of the Transajaches San Marcial on Saturday was a notable success, culminating in a lively night of rock music during the “pamela” party, a celebration marked by the creativity of local residents.
