Residents in Candelaria have submitted 225 proposals for consideration in the town’s participatory budgeting process. The local government has set aside €500,000 for this initiative, with voting on the proposals open until 15 October.
The municipal authorities are also inviting residents to attend community meetings scheduled between 15 September and 14 October.
Mónica Yanes, the Councillor for Citizen Participation, encourages community involvement: “Every vote counts. In processes like this, it makes a significant difference. I urge the people of Candelaria to come to their local table, as the proposals that gain support will be the ones we see implemented. The more votes a proposal receives, the closer it will be to execution in 2027.”
Residents can also cast their votes online at participa.candelaria.es, where they can find detailed information about which proposals are viable and the reasons behind those that are not. Viable proposals will be open for voting starting 15 September.
