The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast a hot Sunday across the Canary Islands. Expect mostly clear skies, dust haze, and temperatures soaring above 35°C in many mid-altitude and mountainous areas, particularly in the southern and western parts of the islands, and in the interior and south of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
In some areas, temperatures could exceed 37°C, while the southern and western peaks of Gran Canaria might see temperatures surpassing 39°C. High minimum temperatures are also anticipated in these regions.
Moderate north-easterly winds are expected along the coasts, with stronger gusts in the southeast and western slopes of the mountainous islands, as well as in the interior of Lanzarote, where very strong gusts are likely from the afternoon. In mid-altitude and mountainous areas, winds will blow moderately from the east, sometimes becoming strong.
At sea, Aemet predicts winds from the north or northeast of force 3 to 5, increasing to 4 to 6, causing light waves near La Palma and El Hierro and more significant waves across the other islands.

Lanzarote: Clear skies with high dust haze. Temperatures expected to remain somewhat stable or slightly rise. Temperatures could exceed 35°C in the interior and southeast, potentially reaching 37°C in some areas. Minimum temperatures may not drop below 25°C. Moderate north-easterly winds with strong gusts likely in the afternoon.
- Expected temperatures: Arrecife 24°C – 34°C
Fuerteventura: Clear skies, with some high cloud cover early on. Temperatures will rise on the west side and slightly fall on the east. Minimum temperatures remain stable or slightly rise with highs above 35°C, possibly hitting 37°C. Winds will be moderate with strong gusts in the afternoon south of Jandía.

Gran Canaria: Mostly clear skies with some high clouds early. Maximum temperatures will rise in low areas but show little change or slight decreases in the mountains. In the northern mid-levels, temperatures could exceed 34°C, reaching up to 37°C locally. Peaks and mid-altitudes in the south-west could surpass 39°C, with possible local extremes over 40°C. Minimum temperatures might not fall below 28°C.

Tenerife: Clear skies and high dust haze. Temperatures will rise slightly, especially in southeast slopes. Expect highs above 35°C in southern mid-levels and peaks, potentially exceeding 37°C locally. Minimums will not drop below 26°C in these areas.

La Gomera: Clear skies with high dust haze. Rising temperatures, except slight drops in the northern highlands. Highs expected over 35°C, reaching 37°C locally. Minimums could stay above 25°C.

La Palma: Clear skies and high dust haze. Temperatures are set to rise, with highs over 35°C in high altitudes, locally reaching 37°C. Minimums may not fall below 25°C.

El Hierro: Clear skies with dust haze. Rising temperatures expected, particularly above 35°C at mid-levels and highlands, locally reaching 37°C. Minimums could remain above 25°C.
