Fire Risk Alert Lifted in Tenerife and Gran Canaria
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 August (EUROPA PRESS) – The Canary Islands Government has lifted the fire risk alert in Gran Canaria and Tenerife as of Saturday. This decision was made following advice from the State Meteorological Agency and other sources.
The alert was originally declared due to specific environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, wind, and the state of combustible materials. These factors no longer justify the alert, which previously affected the mountains and southern and western slopes of Tenerife, as well as the higher regions of Gran Canaria.
While the alert has ended, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and the islands of El Hierro, La Palma, and La Gomera will remain under a state of pre-alert for fire risks.
