A traffic accident on Saturday afternoon in Arrecife saw a vehicle crash onto the pavement and collide with the corner of a building. Emergency services from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium were dispatched to the scene.
The alert was received at 5:25 PM on Mina Street. Upon arrival, firefighters were informed by local police that the driver had exited the vehicle unaided and was unharmed.
The car veered off the road, ending up on the pavement and striking the corner of a structure. Its position required emergency services to remove the vehicle and ensure safety in the area.
Once the local police gave the go-ahead, firefighters used a winch to move the car off the road. They also discovered oil on the roadway and used absorbent material to cover it, preventing further incidents.
Just two hours earlier, at 3:28 PM, firefighters were called to Greco Street in the Parque Central area due to reports of a gas smell near some gas cylinder storage units. They discovered two sheds and found one with a leak caused by a damaged hose. After securing the site, they disconnected the cylinders and shut off the main valve, bringing the situation under control.
