This decision follows forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) and is part of the Specific Emergency Plan for Adverse Weather Events in the Canaries.
Moderate north-easterly winds are expected, with strong gusts particularly affecting the interior and southern parts of the island, where winds could reach up to 80 km/h, especially on the southeast and west coasts.
Additionally, a yellow warning for heat has been issued for Lanzarote, with predictions of clear skies and elevated temperatures. Inland areas and the southeast could see thermometres exceed 35 degrees, with peaks of 37 degrees in some locations. Nighttime temperatures may not drop below 25 degrees, leading to an especially warm evening.
Authorities urge people to take precautions, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and secure loose objects that may be affected by the wind.
