David and Álvaro García, a father-and-son duo, emerged as champions of the third round of the 2026 Canary Islands Family Golf Circuit, held yesterday at Costa Teguise Golf in Lanzarote. This marks the first time this family competition has taken place on the island. The Garcías scored a total of 22 points, highlighting the event’s focus on promoting both sportsmanship and family bonding in golf, while also encouraging healthy lifestyles and the development of grassroots golf in the Canaries.
Alfonso García and Lucía Morales claimed second place with 20 points, followed closely by Guillermo and Mariam González, who finished third with 19 points.
In the Prebenjamín category, Valentín and Martín Robledano took first place with 16 points, while Elena García and Josepe Núñez secured second with 14 points.
Tomás and Alberto Díaz continued their success in the Benjamín category by winning for the third consecutive time, having previously triumphed in Golf del Sur and Las Palmeras Golf, thereby maintaining their lead in the overall rankings.
The Alevín category saw Alfonso García and Lucía Morales triumphant once again with 20 points in a tightly contested match. Guillermo and Mariam González and Alejandro and Alba Medina followed closely, each finishing with 19 points.
One of the highlights of the day occurred in the Infantil category, where David and Álvaro García faced off against Gara Trapero and Enrique Pérez. The Garcías claimed victory with 22 points, leaving Gara and Enrique with 19 points. This win also solidified David and Álvaro’s status as the overall winners of the event.
The third round’s success marks a significant milestone for the Family Golf Circuit, as it expands its outreach to Lanzarote for the first time. Following the prize-giving ceremony, the circuit will continue on Saturday, 29 August, with its fourth round at Meloneras Golf.
