A 43-year-old man was taken to the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital on Friday night after falling onto rocks by the sea in Playa Blanca, Yaiza. Emergency services, including the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), and local police, responded to the incident.
The alert was received at 9:26 PM via CECOES 112, reporting a fall in a rocky area near Ireland Street. When emergency responders arrived, local police were already assisting the man and pointed out the location of the accident.
He suffered a severe head injury and was assessed by medical personnel from a SUC ambulance. Following evaluation, firefighters used a rescue stretcher to evacuate him to an advanced life support unit, which transported him to the hospital. The operation concluded at 10:20 PM.
Earlier, at 8:25 PM, emergency services were called to a minor road traffic accident on Viriato Street in the San Francisco Javier neighbourhood of Arrecife. Upon arrival, they found that two vehicles had collided lightly. One car had struck another, lost control, and veered off the road, damaging part of a nearby fence.
The driver of a Dacia Sandero was treated for mild neck pain and later taken to the hospital for further assessment. Firefighters noted that no additional intervention was required, as both vehicles were off the road, posing no risk to traffic or safety. They completed their service and returned to the station.
