Lanzarote and La Graciosa will experience a hot and breezy day on Tuesday, 4 August, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). The islands will enjoy mostly clear skies with particularly high temperatures during the midday hours.
Temperatures are expected to reach around 29 degrees Celsius in Arrecife and other coastal areas, while inland and in the south, they may soar to between 34 and 35 degrees, feeling even hotter in sheltered areas. The minimum temperature is forecast to be about 22 degrees.
A moderate to strong northeast wind will blow, with gusts of up to 40 to 50 kilometres per hour, especially in exposed regions and higher ground. While these trade winds will provide some relief from the heat along the coast, much of the island will still experience sweltering conditions.
The AEMET also warns of very high ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels, advising the public to take extra precautions during peak sun hours, particularly from midday to mid-afternoon.
Overall, stable weather will continue in Lanzarote, characterised by warmth, wind, and clear skies as the week begins.
