Fire in La Mareta Creates Dense Smoke Plume

A private site in La Mareta, near Fuerteventura Airport, caught fire around 2:30 PM on Wednesday, sending a thick column of smoke into the air. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
Emergency services from the Cabildo de Fuerteventura stated the blaze was fueled by an accumulation of plastic and tyres, materials known for producing significant smoke.
Firefighters from Puerto del Rosario were on scene to manage the situation. Authorities confirmed there were no fears of the fire spreading, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
