Young Man Arrested for Burglary in Corralejo
A 21-year-old has been arrested by the Guardia Civil for allegedly breaking into a holiday home in Corralejo, Fuerteventura. Authorities managed to recover nearly all stolen items within an hour of receiving the alert.
The incident occurred early in the morning when officers were notified of the burglary on Chorlitejo Street. Initial investigations revealed that the suspect climbed a two-metre high perimeter wall to access the property, where he searched various rooms for valuables.
During the theft, the suspect reportedly stole a bag containing personal effects, including passports, wireless headphones, a gold bracelet, and a diamond ring valued at around €3,000, along with cash—all while the residents were inside the home.
Upon learning of the crime, Guardia Civil patrols quickly initiated a search operation throughout Corralejo. This led to the identification of the 21-year-old, who had a history of property crimes. During the arrest, officers found the stolen diamond ring in his possession. Further investigations allowed them to recover the remaining stolen items and gather enough evidence to link him to the burglary.
As a result, the young man was arrested for burglary. He has since been released by the court in Puerto del Rosario after undergoing judicial procedures.
