Lanzarote’s highest temperature in June was nearly ten degrees lower than that of Gran Canaria. According to a report by the Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the island reached a maximum of 29.8 degrees on June 30, making it one of the coolest locations in the archipelago. La Graciosa recorded an even lower temperature of 26.8 degrees three days earlier.
In contrast, Gran Canaria experienced the hottest weather, with temperatures hitting 39 degrees in Tejeda, at an altitude of 1,060 metres, followed by La Gomera at 37 degrees.
For minimum temperatures, Gran Canaria also led, with a high of 28.6 degrees recorded in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, while Tenerife followed closely with a minimum of 25.9 degrees. La Graciosa had a minimum of 21.1 degrees, and Lanzarote recorded 21.7 degrees.
In terms of rainfall, June was wetter than expected in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at 110%, but drier in Las Palmas, at 75%. Overall, the archipelago ranked 25th for the wettest Junes since 1961, primarily due to rain in Tenerife.
However, Lanzarote saw minimal rainfall, recording only 0.2 millimetres on its wettest day, with measurements taken at Los Dolores in Tinajo and Las Vegas in Tías.
