The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a warm Friday across the Canary Islands, with partly cloudy skies and the chance of light showers in some areas. While the day is expected to be generally stable, typical summer rain could fall in various parts of the archipelago.
According to Aemet, the skies will be partly cloudy in most regions, with some morning cloud cover in the north. Cloud development is also likely in inland areas where daytime heating supports more compact formations. Isolated light rain is a possibility, particularly in mid-altitude zones and along sections of the southern coast, but any rainfall is expected to be weak and localized.
Temperatures Steady, Up to 30°C in Tenerife
Temperatures will remain stable compared to recent days, with Tenerife experiencing highs around 30°C. El Hierro is expected to see the lowest temperatures, dipping to about 15°C. Despite the potential for some rain, conditions will largely remain summery, especially inland and in southern areas, while coastal regions benefit from milder breezes.
Light to Moderate Northerly Winds
Winds will generally come from the north, ranging from light to moderate. Coastal areas will experience pleasant breezes, which will help in keeping temperatures comfortable. On Mount Teide, moderate westerly winds are anticipated, especially in exposed high-altitude areas, although no significant wind-related issues are expected.
Gran Canaria and Eastern Islands Forecast
Gran Canaria will enjoy mainly clear skies during the day, aside from morning cloud in northern regions. Aemet indicates the possibility of light rain in the mid-altitude areas, particularly where clouds are thicker. Temperatures in Las Palmas will vary, with Gran Canaria reaching around 25°C and Fuerteventura around 20°C.
Overall, Friday is set to offer a mix of sun and clouds, along with isolated light showers, as summer temperatures hold steady across the Canary Islands, with Tenerife likely recording the day’s highest temperatures.
