Two motorcyclists have sustained serious injuries in separate accidents in Mogán, Gran Canaria, on Thursday. Both were airlifted to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria by emergency services.
The first incident occurred at around 12:47 PM when the emergency services received a call about a biker who had fallen near the junction of the GC-500 road leading to the GC-1 motorway, at the 56-kilometre mark heading north. The 42-year-old rider was treated at the scene for multiple traumatic injuries and then transported by a medical helicopter.
Fire services secured the area for safety, while local police and the Guardia Civil managed traffic and conducted investigations. Civil Protection also assisted with the operation.
Later in the day, at 3:34 PM, a 34-year-old motorcyclist fell while riding on the GC-200 road, prompting another emergency call. This rider also suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the same hospital. Firefighters helped ensure a safe landing zone for the helicopter, and traffic was similarly managed by the authorities.
