Eudaldo Gómez de Salazar, a notable trade unionist and prominent activist, has died at the age of 64 after a prolonged illness. He passed away in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he was known for his commitment to various social causes, including the autonomy of Western Sahara and the rights of the Palestinian people.
Born in 1962, Gómez de Salazar grew up in the Las Alcaravaneras neighbourhood and worked at the local council, where he served as president of the Works Committee, representing municipal workers. In 2008, he played a key role in negotiations regarding overtime for city employees and held the position of secretary for Intersindical Canaria at the council.
His funeral will take place on Monday, 31 August, at 11:00 a.m. in San Lázaro, following a wake at San Miguel Funeral Home in room 204.
