This year marks a significant occasion, as it will be the last performance featuring Armando Jerez as the young Don Juan, a role he has played for over 25 years. In 2027, Jerez will pass the role to his son, Miguel Ángel Jerez, a talented actor in the company, while Armando will still portray Don Juan in his later years.

María Rodríguez, who also directs the production, reprises her role as Brígida, a character she first portrayed with Jerez in Madrid back in 1999.

The performance, which has become a staple for Timaginas Teatro over 18 years, showcases the importance of the Teatro Leal’s support in keeping this Spanish theatrical tradition alive. It allows multiple generations of audiences to enjoy Zorrilla’s masterpiece annually.

A cast of around 20 actors and extras will bring the classic text to life in a highly praised production, which has also been broadcast by RTVE, helping to introduce many young people to Romanticism.

The cast includes Andreas Figueiredo Trujillo as Don Luis Mejía, Sandra Hernández de León as Doña Inés, and Angelo Olivier as the Commendador, along with other familiar faces who have supported the production in the Canaries.

The story will follow Don Juan as he attempts to seduce Doña Inés from her convent, unaware that he will find himself caught in a redemptive love. The company has designed an elaborate set, featuring seven scene changes, accompanied by period costumes crafted by art director Carmen Rodríguez.

As spirits and a magical atmosphere surround Don Juan on his journey, audiences will once again join the Teatro Leal and Timaginas Teatro in celebrating this treasured tradition.

Simultaneously, Timaginas Teatro’s reputation is growing beyond the Canaries, as it tours the mainland with productions like ‘La farsa del Siglo de Oro’ and ‘La casa de Bernarda Alba’, receiving warm responses across Spain.
