The centre will cover over 6,150 square metres, with 3,480 square metres of total space, including a sales area of 1,500 square metres. A 330-square-metre fresh market will feature a butchery, delicatessen, greengrocer, cheese section, dairy products, and frozen goods. It will also include a wine cellar and a selection of dry food tailored for the hospitality sector.

In addition to its cash-and-carry function, the centre will serve as a nearby logistics platform, allowing customers to either purchase on-site or request delivery to their businesses. It will provide 51 parking spaces and a self-service GM Oil petrol station with four pumps open to the public.

Located in the La Hondura industrial estate on Los Alisios Street, the GM Cash centre will incorporate solar panels, LED lighting, and efficient refrigeration systems to minimise energy consumption and environmental impact.

This will be Transgourmet’s fifth GM Cash centre in the Canary Islands, joining four others already in operation across the islands in Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Juan Domínguez, the general manager of Transgourmet in the Canaries, highlighted the significance of Fuerteventura for the company’s growth in the hospitality sector.

Transgourmet Ibérica, part of the Transgourmet group, claims to be the second-largest wholesale distributor of food and beverages in Europe, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. It employs over 30,000 staff across seven countries, including Spain, France, and Germany.
