The LPA BMusic Festival will be taking place from September 10 to 13 at El Rincón Park in Las Palmas, featuring a record 27 bands. This year marks the festival’s 13th edition, expanding to four days to celebrate its legacy, which includes acts like the veteran heavy metal group Def Con Dos and the elegant Maika Makovski.
Festival spokesperson María Ameneiros stated that the event will offer “four different ways to experience music,” focusing on inclusivity and discovery rather than simply high-profile acts. The festival is committed to showcasing local talent, having recently concluded its LPA Emergente competition, which featured 30 emerging bands throughout the summer.
Festival director Teresa Deudero emphasised the importance of balancing diversity and discovery over attracting star names, stating, “This is a festival without pretension, VIP areas, or eccentricities. Attendees come for bands they love and leave having discovered new music.”
A notable addition this year is LPA Sound Juernes, a free event on September 10 that will kick off the festival with performances by local electronic artists, including Ale Acosta, Cervatana, and RATA.
The festival’s line-up continues on September 11 with performances from heavyweights like Angelus Apatrida and the celebration of Def Con Dos’s 30 years in music, alongside rising stars from LPA Emergente.
The following day will feature alternative rock and pop, including Alcalá Norte—performing their only concert in the Canary Islands this year—alongside Maika Makovski, who is commemorating 20 years in the industry.
The festival will conclude on September 13 with LPA Fun Family, an intergenerational celebration featuring family-friendly activities and performances by bands like Madafaka All Star and Los Lola.
Deudero noted that the festival aims for attendees to come for familiar bands and leave having discovered new favourites.
