Registration Now Open for Fuerteventura’s 7th Tapas Route
Restaurants in Puerto del Rosario can now sign up for the 7th edition of the Tapas Route, a popular culinary event running from 10 to 19 September. Organised by the local Commerce Department, the event promises to showcase the best of local gastronomy.
Establishments have until 27 July to register, with the chance to promote their offerings, attract new customers, and compete for the title of the best tapa. The top winner will receive the Platinum Tapa award and a cash prize of €1,000, along with increased visibility in the community.
During the event, which takes place on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, attendees can sample dishes for a set price of €4.50, which includes a tapa and a drink (water, soft drink, beer, or wine) in each participating venue’s chosen format.
Not only can participants enjoy the culinary delights, but they will also vote for their favourite tapa, helping determine the best entries in this year’s competition. Prizes, including meals at local restaurants, dining experiences, accommodation, and trips, will be raffled among those who cast their votes.
Public voting will identify the seven finalists, who will then be judged by a professional panel to decide the winners.
This year’s awards include:
- Platinum Tapa – €1,000
- Gold Tapa – €750
- Silver Tapa – €500
- Bronze Tapa – €250
- Special mentions for Best Canarian Tapa, Best Concept, and Most Popular Tapa.
The council encourages all local eateries to take part in this opportunity to showcase their culinary creativity and engage with thousands of residents and visitors drawn to this annual celebration of local cuisine.
