Police Disperse Large Gathering in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Local police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife detained a 50-year-old man and issued fines to seven others during the eviction of an illegal drinking party near José Antonio Barrios Square, close to the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, early on Sunday, 23 August.
Following complaints from residents, officers arrived at the scene around 3 a.m. and discovered around 15 people consuming alcohol and playing loud music from their vehicles. When police instructed them to disperse and began identifying attendees, some individuals confronted the officers, prompting a call for reinforcements.
One man, named R.C.C., resisted showing his identification and physically struggled with police, resulting in his arrest. Additionally, a woman at the scene attempted to incite the crowd to obstruct the police intervention and was also fined.
Among those present, aged between 30 and 50, five others received fines for alcohol consumption. After the operation, officers ordered the remaining individuals to leave the area and took the detainee to the police station to face charges.
