Increased Bus Service on Fuerteventura
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has announced adjustments to the Express Line 3 bus service, aiming to improve coverage at the Playa Blanca and El Matorral stops. This change follows the recent cancellation of Urban Line 1 by Puerto del Rosario’s Transport Department.
The Express Line 3 will now include two additional stops—one at Playa Blanca and another at El Matorral—to compensate for the loss of the municipal service, particularly benefiting Playa Blanca.
Transport Councillor Luis González stated, “Following a request from the Mayor of Puerto del Rosario, we will incorporate these stops into Line 3 Express, allowing us to increase frequencies at the two main population centres along this route.”
The revamped Express Line 3 began operating on 8 June 2023, offering a faster and more efficient connection between Puerto del Rosario and Caleta de Fuste. This initiative aims to alleviate congestion on one of Fuerteventura’s busiest routes and responds to public demand for improved transport services. The line operates three high-performance electric buses, funded through the European Next Generation initiative.
