Lanzarote has emerged as a top destination for family holidays among British tourists, with Puerto del Carmen ranked as the third-best family destination in Europe, as per a satisfaction survey by the UK travel operator loveholidays.
The ranking is based on direct feedback from thousands of British families after their summer holidays, awarding Puerto del Carmen an impressive overall score of 4.41 out of 5. This score highlights the area’s service quality, strategic location, and overall holiday experience.
In specific categories, Puerto del Carmen excelled notably in location, receiving a rating of 4.56, followed closely by overall holiday experience at 4.53, and accommodation service with 4.51. Cleanliness was rated at 4.47, and value for money received 4.43. Families rated their resort facilities at 4.28 and the food and drink options at 4.12.
Canary Islands also have two other destinations on the list. Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria ranked fourth overall with a score of 4.40, receiving the highest rating for dining. Corralejo in Fuerteventura placed seventh nationally with a score of 4.32, praised for its dune landscapes and excellent value.
The report underscores Spain’s dominance in the holiday market, occupying the top eight positions on the list. First place went to Cambrils in the Costa Dorada, followed by Santa Ponça in the Balearics. Fuengirola and Sa Coma took fifth and sixth places, while Benalmádena was eighth after Corralejo.
Notably, key Mediterranean competitors like Turkey and Greece did not appear on the list until positions nine and ten, with Antalya and Kiotari respectively.
