Extensive Programme Announced for Virgen del Carmen Festival in La Santa
The Tinajo Council, led by Jonathan Pérez Olivero, has unveiled a varied schedule for the Virgen del Carmen 2026 celebrations in La Santa, running from 6th to 19th July.
The festival is packed with activities suitable for all ages. Early events focus on youth, including a children’s football tournament. Adults can enjoy a walk on Friday, 10th July. Sport continues with surfing in La Santa and the Chirrimil Championship on Saturday, 11th July, alongside a chess tournament.
One of the festival’s highlights will occur on Thursday, 16th July, at 6:00 PM, featuring a land procession accompanied by the Timbayba Musical Group, followed by a popular barbecue with performances from DJ Álvaro Ramírez, Soneros, and Swing del Norte.
The main festivities kick off on Saturday, 18th July, with the La Santa Colors Fest from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Performers at the event include Nuevo Klan, Primera Marcha, DJ Sami, and others, culminating in a lively evening dance with Vocal Force, Tremendo Son, and DJ Sami.
Sunday, 19th July, will see a maritime procession and mass with the Tinajo Municipal Band and tenor Rubén Fariña, accompanied by singing students. The festivities will wrap up with a community barbecue, local theatre, a children’s lip-sync competition, and a special performance at the taverns.
Councillor Jonatan Pérez Olivero invites everyone to partake in these eagerly awaited celebrations, highlighting that they offer something for all ages and tastes. Meanwhile, Mayor Jesús Machín expressed hope that the festival will be enjoyable for both locals and visitors, wishing all residents a peaceful and responsible celebration dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
