Roadworks will disrupt traffic on the GC-100 between Telde and Ingenio on Monday, August 17, from 08:00 to 18:00. The Gran Canaria Cabildo is conducting demolition work to remove large rocks that pose a risk of falling onto the road before the rainy season begins.
The work will affect the stretch of road between Cuatro Puertas and Ingenio, specifically from kilometre point 15.7 at the start of the Draguillo ravine to kilometre point 16.8 at the entrance to Aguatona.
Traffic will be diverted between 08:00 and 18:00. Drivers from Telde should use Cuatro Puertas, then redirect to Ojos de Garza and the GC-1. Those travelling from Ingenio towards Telde will need to head to the GC-1 via El Carrizal.
To safely remove the rocks, workers will use an excavator to break the hillside above the road. To protect the asphalt, a layer of earth will first be spread out as a cushion for the falling rocks. After the rocks are cleared, the team will clean the road before reopening it to traffic.
