Temporary Parking Set Up for World Cup Final in Arrecife
Arrecife Town Hall has opened a large temporary car park near Vía Medular and the Las Salinas neighbourhood to accommodate the expected crowds on Sunday, when Spain faces Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final at the Theme Park.
The local council confirmed that this parking facility was made possible through collaboration with private landowners who agreed to temporary use after discussions with the council.
On the same day, the Mobility and Transport Department will implement special traffic measures, including restrictions on Avenida de Arrecife and the vicinity of the Theme Park. This is part of a security plan for the event and will be in effect throughout Sunday.
In addition to these measures, there will be road closures and diversions along the seafront, from Insular Hospital to Puerto Naos, due to the traditional maritime procession for Our Lady of Carmen, which is also taking place that day.
Mayor Yonathan de León chaired a coordination meeting to oversee the planned operations, involving representatives from various municipal departments, including Mobility, Security, Tourism, Commerce, and Sports, as well as local police, National Police, and Civil Protection teams.
The council plans to set up several large screens in the Theme Park, allowing the public to watch the match. Activities will begin from 6 PM, featuring music performances and DJ sets leading up to the game.
Officials noted that a similar event for the semi-final against France attracted thousands, informing their approach to enhance security and traffic management this time.
Residents are advised to use the designated parking at Vía Medular, follow signs from personnel and agents, and plan their journeys in advance due to anticipated traffic restrictions throughout the city.
