The Lanzarote Health Area has announced that the Early Attention Unit will temporarily relocate to the Local Health Centre in Mala, situated in the municipality of Haría. This move is necessary while renovations are carried out at its current site in the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital.
The transfer is expected to last approximately six weeks, the duration of the scheduled works. Once completed, the unit will return to its usual facilities within the hospital.
The renovations aim to improve the air conditioning in the area dedicated to supporting young patients, ensuring the environment is suitable for care.
Importantly, services will continue throughout the relocation. Children who rely on the Early Attention Unit will maintain their appointments and treatments at the Local Health Centre in Mala. Families will need to travel to this facility for their scheduled sessions during the move.
The Health Area emphasised that this plan is in place to ensure continued support for children with developmental disorders or those at risk of such issues, as well as for their families, promoting their overall development and independence.
The Early Attention Unit will return to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital after the upgrades are finished.
