Santa Cruz de Tenerife will receive €1.6 million from the Ministry of Innovation to develop a smart platform aimed at managing urban goods distribution.
This tool will digitise the loading and unloading process, enhancing logistics management not only for the city’s supplies but also for the use of public space for these operations. It is expected to boost the local economy, announced Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez.
He made the announcement during the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) Technical Conference, organised by the city council and ITS Spain.
Bermúdez emphasised that this initiative positions the municipality at the forefront of modernising and digitalising mobility, a path already in progress with the integration of the latest technologies.
Evelyn Alonso, the Councillor for Mobility, added that the council is committed to inclusive mobility, mentioning an investment of nearly €30 million to introduce less polluting and more modern buses.
