La Laguna to Hold Civil Service Exams for 61 Positions
The La Laguna Town Hall will conduct civil service exams on 31 July to fill 61 positions. This announcement, made on Friday, aims to strengthen the municipal workforce by filling vacancies through both internal promotion and open competition.
Over 6,500 applicants are registered for the exams, which cover roles across groups A1, A2, C1, and C2, to be held at the Tenerife Fairgrounds in a single day.
Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez highlighted the significant interest in this opportunity, noting that the council has not organised public selection processes for over twenty years. He emphasised the need for new recruits to address the impending retirement of many staff members, ensuring the continuity of municipal services.
Candidates for administrative assistant roles in group C2 will take their exams starting at 8:00 AM, followed by C1 administrative roles at 11:00 AM. The day continues with exams for management technicians in group A2 at 2:30 PM, and concludes with A1 General Administration technician tests at 5:30 PM.
Councillor Carla Cabrera assured that the exams would be monitored by police to ensure safety and impartiality. The process is a crucial step in renewing the workforce, providing a chance to fill positions in various departments of the local government.
Of the 61 positions, 13 are reserved for internal promotions to C1 administrative roles, with eight A1 General Administration technicians, five A2 management technicians, and six C1 administrators also being recruited. The greatest number of vacancies—29—is for C2 administrative assistants.
This initiative marks one of the largest staff renewals the council has pursued in recent years, aiming to enhance service delivery and adapt to changing management needs while preparing for upcoming retirements.
