The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Council will launch a new pest control campaign next week, targeting various neighbourhoods in the Centro and Anaga districts. This initiative, managed by the Sustainability department, aims to prevent infestations and maintain sanitary conditions in public spaces.
Beginning on Monday, the work will start in El Toscal, followed by intervention in Los Campitos on Tuesday. On Wednesday, teams will move to La Alegría, with further efforts in Valleseco on Thursday, and concluding on Friday in María Jiménez, all areas within Anaga.
The campaign includes monitoring and treatment measures designed to control the presence of rodents, insects, and other urban pests.
The Council has emphasised that this preventive programme is supported by actions initiated when municipal services receive reports from the public. Feedback from residents helps identify potential pest hotspots, allowing for a faster and more tailored response.
In this regard, the Council encourages the use of the SC Mejora app to report sightings of rodents, cockroaches, wasps, or other nuisances that may pose risks in public areas. This app logs reports, enabling municipal services to track and address these issues effectively.
