Weather Alert for Tenerife: Up to 34°C on Monday
Tenerife will experience a hot Monday, with temperatures reaching up to 34°C in Santa Cruz and the western, southern, and eastern midlands, according to the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET). The day is expected to be mostly clear, with some light dust in the air.
Cloud cover is likely in the northern lowlands during the early and late hours, with possible clouds along the western coast overnight. Most of the island will enjoy clear skies.
Coastal temperatures will remain fairly stable, while other areas may see slight to moderate increases. The east of the capital will especially feel the heat, with even the northern midlands potentially surpassing 30°C.
Winds will be moderate from the north, with stronger gusts anticipated overnight in the northeastern and southwestern regions.
Across the Canary Islands, high temperatures are forecasted. Gran Canaria could see highs of 37°C in the southeast, south, and west, with 34°C possible in parts of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, along with eastern, southern, and western midlands of La Gomera.
Generally, skies will be mostly clear with some clouds in the northern lowlands. Light dust will also be present, particularly in the eastern province.
Further increases in temperatures are expected, especially in the interior. Winds will be moderate from the north along coastal regions, with stronger gusts in specific areas.
La Gomera will also face a yellow alert for high temperatures, with generally clear skies and cloud cover in the northern lowlands during the early and late hours.
Lanzarote will experience similar weather conditions, with clear to partly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching 32-34°C in the interior and southern coasts.
Fuerteventura will have clear skies and moderate temperatures, with highs hitting 34°C in the interior, while winds from the north are expected to be moderate but strong in some areas.
Gran Canaria will likely have the hottest weather, with temperatures soaring. Most areas will be clear, although northern lowlands might experience cloud cover.
