Fuerteventura Launches ‘It’s Summer, It’s Sport 2026’ Campaign
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura is launching the ‘It’s Summer, It’s Sport 2026’ initiative to give citizens free access to local sports facilities throughout July.
Luis González, the Sports Councillor, explained that this initiative is made possible through a contract with the Fuerteventura Disabled Association (Adisfuer), which provides essential support for the operation of these facilities.
From July 1 to July 31, the sports centres will be open to all ages, regardless of whether they have a sports federation licence. This is also available for groups and associations.
To participate, applications must be made in person at the chosen sports centre on the Friday prior to the desired week, starting at 4 PM.
This initiative is part of Fuerteventura’s broader eSPORTura25-35 strategy, aiming to maximise the social benefits of local sports facilities. It promotes active lifestyles while enhancing physical and mental well-being, fostering social cohesion and improving the overall quality of life for island residents.
