Las Palmas Welcomes Pride Celebrations This Weekend
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host its main events for LGTBI+ Pride 2026 this weekend, featuring a variety of activities across the city. The celebrations aim to highlight diversity, equality, and respect for all individuals.
Betsaida González, the city’s Councillor for Equality, Diversity, and Citizen Participation, emphasised that Pride is a chance to create a community where everyone can live freely and with dignity, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. She noted the importance of showcasing the richness of diversity and promoting a more respectful and equal society.
The festivities kick off on Friday, 26 June, with “Pride at the Rhythm”, starting at 20:30 in Plaza de Canarias. Hosted by Roberto Herrera, the event will include a DJ set by Mel Ömna, performances by drag queen Grimassira Maeva, and a selection of food trucks.
On Saturday, 27 June, activities switch to Plaza de España for “Family Pride” from 17:00 to 20:00. This family-friendly day will feature bouncy castles, craft workshops, face painting, and a performance by clown Rafaelillo, fostering values of respect and inclusivity from a young age.
Later that day, at 19:00, the Pride 2026 Parade, organised by the Gamá Collective, will begin on Avenida José Mesa y López and finish at Plaza de Canarias.
The celebrations will conclude with the Final Pride Party from 22:00 to 00:30 in Plaza de Canarias, featuring DJ sets by Carla Cias and DJ Jia Miles, alongside more food trucks and social spaces for a night of joy.
