A 14-year-old boy has drowned in a cove in Mogán, Gran Canaria, according to emergency services. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

At 2:35 PM, the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre received multiple alerts about someone in distress in the water between Amadores and Puerto Rico beaches.
Rescue efforts involved the Emergency and Rescue Group, Maritime Salvage, the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, and Civil Protection to locate the boy.
Despite being rescued from beneath the water, paramedics from the Canary Island Emergency Service could only confirm his death.
The Civil Guard is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and has begun the relevant police procedures at the scene.
