The Early Attention Unit of Lanzarote’s Health Area, part of the Canary Islands Health Department, has temporarily relocated to the Local Health Centre in Mala starting Monday, 21st September. This move comes as a result of ongoing improvement works on the air conditioning at its usual base, the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital.
The transfer to the Haría municipality facility is expected to last approximately six weeks, coinciding with the scheduled construction period. Once the improvements are complete, the unit will return to its original location.
These works aim to enhance the air conditioning conditions in the unit’s facilities, allowing for better service delivery. The temporary relocation has been arranged to ensure that children’s care continues without disruption during the upgrades.
During this period, children receiving treatment will have their appointments at the Local Health Centre in Mala, meaning families will need to travel to this site for scheduled sessions.
The Lanzarote Health Area appreciates the cooperation and understanding of families and patients regarding this necessary, temporary change to ensure that the intended improvements can take place.
The Early Attention Unit provides specialised support for children facing developmental disorders or at risk of such issues, along with guidance for their families, as part of an integrated care model aimed at promoting children’s development and independence.
